Backyardigans Puppet Show

To get started on your very own Backyardigans Adventure you'll need to collect some thin card, scissors, tape, glue and anything you'll want to use to decorate your stage.

1. You will need to take the box you are using and carefully cut out the bottom of the "stage" allowing a space for your child to hold their hand.

2. Print out the stage template by clicking on the templates on the right and cut around the background images. Help your child to decorate them with glitter, fabric and markers the use glue to fix them to the insides of the stage.

3. Cut two sections of fabric large enough to cover half of your stage. Using glue fix them to the top side of your box to make curtains.

4. Print off the templates of Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, Austin & Uniqua by clicking the images on the right. Help your child to decorate them with glitter, fabric and markers. Help your child cut round each of the templates. Some help may be needed here!

5. Fold the tabs on the base of each character around to fit snugly on your child's finger. Use tape to fix it firmly in place.

6. Find an audience and the puppet show is ready to perform! Crouch down beside a table or behind a sofa, and show your child how to hold the Backyardigans. Encourage them to think of a fun adventure to act out with the puppets. Make sure you sing along with your child, and help bring the adventure to life!
