| 1. Break the eggs into a medium-sized
bowl, sieve in the flour and pour in the milk. Explain to
your child what you're doing with each of the ingredients,
and then let them mix all the ingredients together in the
bowl using a wooden spoon.
2. Once the batter is mixed, let them watch as you heat the
sunflower oil in a frying pan. If the oil starts to spit,
the heat is on too high. Wait a few moments before pouring
some of the batter into the pan for the first pancake.
3. Cook the pancake for about 3 minutes, and then flip it
over in the pan to cook the other side. This is a guaranteed
crowd-pleaser for any little kitchen helpers!
4. Repeat instructions for further pancakes
5 Serve pancakes immediately. A sprinkle of sugar, chopped-up
fresh or dried fruit all make delicious pancake toppings.
Or for an extra creative touch, why not get your child to
"draw" a smiley face pancake using pieces of fruit
or yoghurt? It's the perfect way to mix healthy-eating and
breakfast time fun.
