Camp Bestival
Nickelodeon UK and SpongeBob SquarePants will be camping out at Camp Bestival this year as they take their unique brand experience to a family festival for the first time, recreating SpongeBob’s magical underwater world in a new interactive space for kids.
SpongeBob SquarePants globally celebrates his 10th birthday this year, and to celebrate 2009 has been named ‘The Year of the Sponge’. Throughout the year SpongeBob will be seen in a variety of new spaces and platforms, with Camp Bestival as the pinnacle of this activity bringing the Year of the Sponge first hand to the kids.
Camp Bestival is an award winning family festival promoted by event organisers Sunday Best and Get Involved and curated by Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank. Taking place on 24th – 26th July at Lulworth Castle, Dorset it kicks off the first week of the school holidays attracting 15,000 people. With 100 free things for kids to do it is a market leader in family entertainment providing a premium camp site experience with three days worth of fun packed programming from music artists such as PJ Harvey and Will Young to the English National Ballet and River Cottage Cafe, fireworks and fancy dress.
Kids visiting the festival will be able to hang out in Bikini Bottom: a bespoke family chill out area containing TV screens showing episodes of SpongeBob; take part in spongetastic interactive activities and games hosted by the Bikini Bottom lifeguard and even meet Mr SpongeBob SquarePants himself!
