Kai-Lan is a playful, adventurous pre-schooler with a big heart. She speaks both English and Mandarin Chinese. Kai-lan is always excited to share her language, her culture and her playtime with her animal friends. She is a natural leader who is always ready for any adventure, whether it's going on a safari or sleighing down a snowy hill.

Tolee is a five-year-old koala who always puts his friends first. He's the thinker of the group, so Kai-lan and her friends can always rely on him for good ideas. Tolee is an excellent climber and he can often be found climbing up to his super, super treehouse – which is shaped like a boat!

Lulu is a very strong, flying pink rhino who loves to visit and play with Kai-lan and her friends. Whether she's skateboarding or being the leader of the Dragon Team, her giggly personality is contagious.

At three years old, Hoho the monkey is the youngest of Kai-lan's friends. He's full of energy and he's really good at jumping. Nothing makes Hoho happier than being the centre of attention, whether he's strutting around or jumping on his friends' heads.

YeYe is Kai-lan's grandfather who was born in Suzhou, China, a rich and colourful world full of customs and traditions. While Kai-lan looks up to him, they can also play together, crawling around and roaring like dinosaurs.
